Most banks give a shop a printed LankaQR sticker. A customer scans it and types the amount into their banking app. A wrong amount means a second payment or a refund. ARC OS can fill the amount in for them.
What you need
- The LankaQR sticker or letter your bank gave the shop.
- A 2D barcode scanner (the kind that also reads QR codes), or a phone that can read a QR code and copy its text.
- A customer display: a second monitor or an Android tablet paired with the till.
Save the code once
- Open Settings, Customer display, and find the LankaQR card.
- Click in the box "LankaQR code text" and scan your sticker with the 2D scanner. The text starts with 000201. With a phone, read the QR code, copy the text and paste it into the box.
- ARC OS shows who the code pays (the shop's name and town, as the bank set them) and a sample code for Rs 1,250.00.
- Scan the sample with your own banking app to check that it pays your shop, then cancel the payment in the app.
- Choose Save LankaQR text.
At the till
Ring up the sale and press Pay (F9). Choose LankaQR. The customer display shows a QR code for the amount still to pay, so a customer who pays part in cash and the rest by QR sees the right figure. When the bank's notification arrives, finish the payment as usual.
ARC OS copies the bank's merchant details from your own code and changes only the amount, the reference and the check digits. It never makes up a merchant account. If the bank gives you a new sticker, scan the new one into the same box.
If you only have the picture
You can also upload a picture of the sticker in the same card; the customer screen then shows that picture and the customer types the amount. On computers that can read QR codes from pictures, Read it from the image fills in the text for you.
